Here is your daily collection of morning Ranger links:
- According to an unnamed NHL agent, restricted free agents Brandon Dubinsky and Ryan Callahan are expected to be signed for around $4.25 million, while Brian Boyle will be inked for around $1.75 million. I think that's a little much for Boyle, but 4.25 is perfect for Dubi and Cally in the opinion of this blogger. [Boston Globe]
- If you missed it, history was made this past weekend. I'm not talking about Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit, but I am talking about Larry Brooks owning up and admitting that the Rangers and Richards are perfect for each other. [Post]
- Here's an interview with WFAN Rangers expert Brian Monzo... [Blue Line Station]
- Will the Rangers have to overpay for Brandon Dubinsky if they want to avoid entering arbitration with him on July 21? It sure seems like that will be the case. [Bleeding All Blue]
- The always snazzy-looking Henrik Lundqvist was an attendee at a recent Hugo Boss show in Berlin. This guy was made for red carpets apparently - it would be nice if he could walk down the one at the NHL Awards sometime soon. [Henrik Lundqvist Blog]
- Roman Horak, the prospect traded by the Rangers in order to acquire Tim Erixon, was an "embarrassment" at Calgary Flames' developmental camp. Glen fleeces the Flames, again! [Matchsticks and Gasoline]
- Sean Avery's girlfriend, the gorgeous Hilary Rhoda, says that Sean does the grilling at her family barbecues but they both do the cleaning. Because, you know, Sean can be kind of "sloppy". [AM New York]
NOTES:
- If you noticed, there is a new button to access the comments section of a post if you are on the main page of the blog. That button will work the exact same way the link did. Also, Disqus allowed us to enable "realtime" commenting, which means new comments in a thread will automatically appear without having to refresh the page. Makes it easier to maintain an elongated conversation.
- I will be on vacation this week, but will still be updating the blog. The daily Ranger Reads will be up every morning at 6 a.m. and obviously if any news breaks we will have that as well. I'll try to get some other material up throughout the week, but no guarantees. Hey, a blogger deserves some relaxation in the offseason too, right?
Anyway, you can use the morning ranger reads as an open thread to talk amongst yourselves (which is easier now because of what I mentioned above), and I will stop in now and then to check up on things. Also, there will be no weekly live chat on Thursday, either.
I am hoping for a little less on the cap hit for all 3 remaining RFAs.
