I really don't think there is any Ranger that fans would like to know more about than Sean Avery. The Hockey News recently interviewed the pesky winger as a part of their "Getting to Know"series. Below are a handful of things you may not have known about Mr. Avery...
- Brett Hull was his hockey idol growing up.
- His first car was a 1988 Audi.
- Favorite food is Indian.
- Says his best hockey memory was being traded to the Rangers from LA.
- Says his most embarrassing hockey moment was scoring on his own goal as a kid.

I should note that Brett Hull was co-GM of the Dallas Stars when Sean Avery signed there three years ago. I think that had a big impact on Sean leaving the Rangers to go to Dallas in the first place because let's face it, his heart is in New York.
I think it's great to hear him say his favorite memory was being traded to the Rangers. A lot of Ranger fans hate on Sean and say his career here is over, but seeing how much he cares about the Rangers and playing at MSG, he is not just going to go away as easily as people think. Despite what happened recently and the bad press he brought to the team, I still believe Avery has a legitimate shot at making the team in September.
I'm a big Avery fan, and I think everyone knows that. But I am not being biased here; Sean wants the Rangers and they want him.
