Lundqvist Will Start Against Thrashers

Henrik Lundqvist, who has missed the last two games with a sore groin/thigh, took part in this morning's skate and will be in net for the Rangers tonight against the visiting Atlanta Thrashers. At the conclusion of Hank's last game (4-1 loss to Vancouver), the Swedish goalie unveiled that he was suffering from a nagging injury, but at coach Tortorella's request, the specifics were never released.

More on the morning skate and the lineup from Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants:

"Optional skate this morning with Enver Lisin (broken left foot), Christopher Higgins and defensemen Wade Redden and Marc Staal choosing instead to do off-ice work. No line rushes so it's a safe bet John Tortorella will go with yesterday's lines:

Lisin-Vinny Prospal-Marian Gaborik
Higgins-Artem Anisimov-Ales Kotalik
Sean Avery-Brian Boyle-Ryan Callahan"

As I said yesterday, Voros, Brashear, and Byers will make up the last line, but none will most likely play center, as Torts will be double-shifting the top three centers on the fourth. This will be done instead of making any call-ups from Hartford, something Torts seems very hesitant about doing.

More pregame in a bit......
