Behind the Scenes at the Winter Classic

There is a new commercial being advertised on television promoting the 2010 Winter Classic Game at Fenway Park between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers. Basically what happens is each team walks out of their locker room, and with a combination of technology and creativity, the producers make it look as if the players are entering a pond much like they did as a child. I think it is a pretty cool commercial being that it captures what the Winter Classic is all about and puts it into one filming. Anyway, I was recently sent the following video (below) by an NHL representative, which shows the behind the scenes work that went into creating the advertisement, the commercial itself, as well as interviews with the Bruins' own Milan Lucic, David Krejci and Marc Savard.

Believe it or not, this will be the third consecutive Winter Classic Game held by the National Hockey League. The previous matches between the Penguins and Sabres, as well as the Blackhawks and Red Wings were a success, and that is an understatement. This game has become a world-wide event that even non-hockey fans will watch solely because of all the hype and excitement that comes along with it. It promotes the sport effectively and NBC always seems to do a fantastic job with producing it. These two teams in the Bruins and Flyers will be an amazing game and most likely a physical one at that. Definitely looking forward to January 1st.

I am planning on having a live blog here on the Rangers Tribune during the event on New Year's Day, even though it does not include the Blueshirts, but that could always change--I will be sure to let readers know closer to that time.
