Parenteau Clears, Lundqvist Confirmed

After placing forward P.A. Parenteau on waivers late yesterday afternoon, the Rangers will now assign him to the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) as he cleared through this morning. For the time being, the shootout specialist will remain in Hartford, but I expect the occasional call-up here and there moving forward. Personally, I would have kept Parenteau and waived Voros, but once again, another poor decision made by the management and coaching staff in my opinion. I also still believe that Aaron Voros should be waived leaving the Rangers with only one extra and 21 on the roster, but that discussion is for another time.

Also, head coach John Tortorella has confirmed goaltender Henrik Lundqvist will make his seventh consecutive start tomorrow against the Islanders at Madison Square Garden. However, no indication from Torts that back-up Chad Johnson will be in goal for the Blueshirts on Thursday in the second of the home and home at Nassau Coliseum. If I were a betting man, though, my money would be on Johnson playing in his first National Hockey League tilt that night.

You are certainly right about Voros. He must be a relative or something as there is no way he could stay up otherwise. As for PA, I guess he will be a cheap pickup if for another team should they try to bring him back to NYC. These are some of the stupidest moves I can remember and I am pretty old.

On another point, I really like Larry Brooks but today he went too far. Attaching blame to Garorik for failing in the shoot out??? Doesn't this guy lead the league in goals and isn't he second in points? Doesn't he also only play for NYR??? Are we going to ask him to take out the trash and repaint the lockerroom??? If Larry really has nothing serious to say, he should simply shut up.

Yea, Larry is known to go a bit overboard sometimes. He cannot expect Gaborik to do EVERYTHING, or to win games all by himself. There is a roster of players for a reason, not to just watch Gabs do everything, even though it seems that way.

Agreed.....and the guy on the goddamned roster who scores in shootouts was waived yesterday. But, we have Aaron Voros so don't sweat it. He must be engaged to Sather's daughter or something.

Brooks makes a point though. Would it hurt to DEKE once in a while in an f'ing shootout Gabby???
