Player of the Month: November 2009

The month of November was much different than that of October, as the Rangers posted a 5-8-0 record and have struggled to get wins as of late. It will be a stretch of games that the Blueshirts will want to put behind them and forget, but for some, it was a time when they did play well despite the losses and were able to record decent stats. Those are the minority of players that I have chosen as nominees for "Player of the Month" for November.

All of the following stats are for the month of November and November only:

1. Marian Gaborik
Games Played: 13

Goals: 11

Assists : 8

Points: 19

2. Vinny Prospal
Games Played: 13

Goals: 2

Assists: 7

Points: 9

3. Artem Anisimov
Games Played: 13

Goals: 2

Assists: 3

Points: 5

4. Sean Avery
Games Played: 13

Goals: 2

Assists: 3

Points: 5

As a reminder, this is not entirely based on statistics, so if you felt a certain player listed above showed superior effort throughout the month, or made a difference even though it was not on the scoreboard, please do not hesitate to vote for that individual. The stats are there just as an addition and something to help you in coming up with your decision, but in your mind you know very well the intangibles that each of these players bring to the game. Those should be recognized as well.

On that note, please head over to the poll located on the sidebar and cast your vote. It was a great success in its debut in October, and I am expecting more of the same for November. The poll will stay up for about a week and a half to two weeks. Your votes are appreciated.
