Valiquette Clears Waivers

Andrew Gross of Ranger Rants has reported that goaltender Steve Valiquette has passed through waivers and will be sent to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. Surprisingly, no one claimed the affordable netminder over the past 24 hours so he will stay withing the farm system for the time being. However, I still believe there will be a move made to acquire a new back-up to Henrik Lundqvist in the next week or so.

Chad Johnson can now be officially added to the Rangers roster with Vally clearing, and will be eligible to practice with the team on Friday. It is still unclear if Johnson will get a start during his time up with the Blueshirts, but that all depends on when General Manager Glen Sather brings in a veteran goalie.
